Christmas Cove Taps York As New Racquets Head

South Bristol, ME May 22, 2026

The Christmas Cove Improvement Association has announced the appointment of Scott York as its new Head of Racquets, marking a significant step forward in the organization’s continued investment in racquets programming and facilities.

Located in South Bristol, Christmas Cove has served as a multi-generational summer destination for more than a century, with tennis and other racquet sports long playing a central role in community life for both adults and juniors.

York, a recent graduate of the renowned Professional Tennis Management program at Ferris State University, will oversee programming at Christmas Cove’s newly expanded racquets complex. The facility expansion includes four new pickleball courts and an additional hard tennis court alongside the club’s existing four tennis courts, ushering in a new era for the Association’s summer sports offerings.

The executive search was conducted by BeyondTheBaselines.com. BeyondTheBaselines.com also advised the Association on the evolution of the position itself, helping develop both the new job description and the title of Head of Racquets to reflect the changing landscape of modern club sports. With both tennis and pickleball now central to the member experience at Christmas Cove, the role was designed to oversee all racquets programming, operations, instruction, and member engagement across the expanding facility.

Prior to joining Christmas Cove, York served at Cincinnati Country Club and Davison Country Club. He will become the first professional to hold the title of Head of Racquets at Christmas Cove.

“We are excited for this new era at Christmas Cove,” said Jed Wartman, Head of Junior Sports at the Association. “Scott brings tremendous energy and professionalism to the role, and we are extremely thankful to Ed Shanaphy and BeyondTheBaselines.com for their support and quick action throughout the search process on behalf of the Association.”

“We moved quickly to identify the right candidate, as the hiring timeline for seasonal clubs becomes shorter and more competitive each year,” said Ed Shanaphy, President of BeyondTheBaselines.com. “Scott’s background, training, and enthusiasm made him an excellent fit for Christmas Cove and its growing racquets vision.”

The Christmas Cove Improvement Association connects its members through a welcoming, multi-generational community built around social, educational, and recreational activities both on and off the water.
