Preparation is the key to success. Whether starting the height of the season in Florida as we head post holidays and post inauguration, or whether planning for the the long days of June at a club on the shores of Lake Michigan, preparation for these busy times is key.
Often, through our work with tennis, fitness and search committees, we have found that one key element of the search is to complete a checklist for a year-round or seasonal job. All the items that should be attended to prior to the “height” of the season. It’s a blank slate for most Directors, and sometimes even General Managers. But below we outline, say for a summer seasonal job, the check list, the significant dates and watersheds, and the basic functionality of the role in preparing for a new year or season.
