Vero Beach, FL — October 2, 2026 — Beyond The Baselines has appointed Christine Murphy-Foltz as Director of the BTB Heroes Tour and a board member of BTB Heroes Foundation Corp, the nonprofit arm of the national tournament series.
The BTB Heroes Tour brings adult and junior players together at competitive tennis events while raising funds for local veterans organizations in each host community. Murphy-Foltz brings extensive tennis industry and tournament experience to the role, including more than three years managing the USTA’s Masters Tennis program. A former competitive junior player in South Florida, she combines a player’s perspective with experience in event planning, participation development, and tournament operations.
“Christine has followed Beyond The Baselines since its inception in 2008. She understands our vision and has helped us bring club management, project management, and executive search together under one umbrella,” said Ed Shanaphy, President of SBW Associates, Inc., the holding company for Beyond The Baselines. “Her competitive background, years with the USTA, and deep roots in South Florida tennis give her an understanding of what players, families, and host facilities need. She brings the experience and perspective to lead the Tour as it grows.”
Murphy-Foltz will oversee the Tour’s tournament planning and coordination, working with host facilities and local beneficiaries to deliver events that combine meaningful competition with community impact.
“Coming from a lifetime of tennis, this opportunity is a very special one for me.” Said Murphy-Foltz. “I see BTB Heroes Tour as a way to share my gratitude and return honor to those who committed their lives to protect and defend humanity. As a part of my family background of serving others, from my serving as a 12-year youth leader and promotor/educator of modifications for injured athletes or those with diffferent abilites, to a cousin who gave his life in the Vietnam war, to my father who served 40+ years as a Fireman; serving those in need seems to be a cohesive family mission.”
Murphy-Foltz will also serve on the board of BTB Heroes Foundation Corp, established in May 2026. The Foundation will receive tournament entry fees, sponsorship funds, and donations, and distribute proceeds from each Tour stop to its designated local veterans organization. She joins certified accountant Jennifer Grohol, Lynne Darlington, BTB’s Business Manager, and Charlie Jackson, co-chair of veteran organization DoYouGiveARuck, on the board of the foundation.
